Carlinkit T2C brings CarPlay to Tesla

If your model year is before 2018, the following conditions must be met when using T2C:
Browser support is required.
WiFi support is required (older cars may be unable to search for 5G signals, so you need to switch to 2.4G for the mobile device's connection).

Tips:
T2C is only suitable for Tesla model cars. If the one you bought with a SIM card port, you can use it with or without a SIM card. If you insert a SIM card (iPhone eSIM card also works), the SIM Card only consumes a small amount of data, navigation, music, and other applications that use the mobile phone's traffic and does not use the T2C'SIM card traffic.
The following countries and regions cannot use Carlinkit T2C products: Taiwan, Hong Kong,and Australia.
When using Carlinkit T2C in Israel, if there is a situation where the box WiFi cannot be found by both the mobile phone and the car, please try to modify the T2C Wi-Fi channel to 36-44 (the reason is Israel only supports channels 36-44, and the T2C box defaults to 149).
T2C is compatible with iPhone 6 or IOS 10 and above. As well as Android phones that support Android Auto.

I like it and will be keeping it. I’m trying to optimize the connection at home to stop it from connecting to my phone when I don’t want it to (leave it switched on, unplug it, add a USB switch, disable CarPlay on the phone as I enter the house) but in the car it does the job nicely. The audio is clear (because it’s Bluetooth directly between car and phone) and it is fully functional for Hey Siri, phone calls etc. The Tesla browser window is a good size so the CarPlay map displays are large and easy to use. After buying the unit it is free to use now that it doesn’t require a SIM and I am expecting to not pay for Premium Connectivity when my trial expires since I get live traffic, and streaming audio through CarPlay. In theory, it pays for itself in the first 12 months.

Works quite well
it takes about a minute to boot up once you're in the car and it autoconnects works seamlessly. Only downside is the Tesla nav and voice commands don't work well, when this is on.

It disconnects occasionally but I'm not sure if it's the phones wifi/Bluetooth or the devices. I would recommend and continue to use. A must have for Uber and Lyft drivers.

Setting it up was okay, but the stability and limitations of Tesla makes that this is not a viable solution in my opinion.
This device is fast and easy to connect, but sometimes you have to restart the device because it doesn't boot up properly or doesn't connect. (Newest Firmware)
Bought this after watching YouTube videos. When I received the cellophane wrapping was just laying in the package with the box, so i felt like maybe i was sent a used device. Opened the box and it all seemed to be correct and looked new.
When i finally got around to installing it was not quite as easy as the videos made it look and the instruction book is such small writing that I struggled with that. It seemed that the instructions were not step by step. It did load write up on the screen but the screen prompts, or lack there of did not match the book.
When i did finally get it to work the picture was great and connected quickly. I set this up in my garage so decide to go drive around the block in the sunlight. Picture was still good but then it stopped. Appears i had connected to my WiFi and not my phone. After messing around with it out in the street for a little bit i finally got it to BT to my phone. I am. Still unable to figure out how to get it to hook up to my hotspot on my phone vs BT. I am running a 2024 Toyota Tundra Platinum with the 14 in infotainment. I can’t tell about open road use yet, that remains to be seen.
Overall happy with it.
