Upgraded Wireless CarPlay (Android ai box) to Android 13 Version one

Upgraded Carlinkit Ai box (enable wireless Carplay and Android auto + It's own android) to Android V13.
It's a small module that is connected to the USB port of the PCM.
Since it also has Android 13 with a SIM card slot, you can play YouTube, Ride with GPS (Connecticut Valley Chapter of Porsche Club uses this app for weekend morning coffee runs), Waze, and such independently.
I set it up as auto-connect to Carplay. From the Android 12 version, it sped up the boot speed, so it takes about 11 seconds to power onto the Carplay connection (wirelessly).
I got the Carlinkit Ai Box Android 13 8G RAM+128GB ROM version for about $150.
If you just want the Wireless Carplay or Android Auto with Carplay equipped PCM porsches, those are fine. It just take little longer to connect (about 20+ Seconds from power on).

Relief after years of frustration.
Ii have a 2019 Toyota Avalon that only supports wired Carplay.
I refused to switch to Apple and have been on a mission to utilize the large screen that the Avalon offers.
Originally I purchased the Carlinkit 5.0 with no success. I reached out and Kris has been great!
I gave him all of my info and he told me exactly what I need and offered a slight discount for my troubles of buying the wrong device
There was a slight hiccup with shipping but Kris was prompt to respond with info and updates.
It took about 20 days as the unit was shipped from China. Without the the hiccup it probably would have been about 14 days.
The device is amazing and loaded right up. I was worried that there would be a serious lag but I haven’t experienced it any thus far. This is a must for any android user with wired Carplay!

Not very happy
Connects fine but 1) Not all streaming applications are "compatible with the device" (e.g., Disney Plus) and 2) My navigation applications (both waze and Google maps) are not working properly (i.e., cannot calculate a route or cannot find addresses typed in). Not even a month of use and I already removed it from my car. Better to be device free than to get into an accident while trying to troubleshoot. Thank you for your time.
I like this box a lot, however I have to say that the interface is dated and the split screen function is pretty clunky when you can actually find two apps that are compatible. I also have a 512 GB w 190 MB read speed and the memory is still laggy to the point that using a video plater app other than YouTube hasn’t worked for me. It’s still worth the money, but it can definitely be improved with some software updates.
I got the Carlinkit 5.0 a week ago, and so far, it has worked great. I get into my car and it is connected to my phone within 10 seconds. I have a 2023 CX-30 and a Samsung Galaxy S21. I was worried that it would have some lag, as I have read that that can be an issue, but so far, it is not noticeable.
it takes about a minute to boot up once you're in the car and it autoconnects works seamlessly. Only downside is the Tesla nav and voice commands don't work well, when this is on.
It disconnects occasionally but I'm not sure if it's the phones wifi/Bluetooth or the devices. I would recommend and continue to use. A must have for Uber and Lyft drivers.
Adds wireless Android Auto/CarPlay to my Subaru, works better than wired OEM.
Bought this because the wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in my 2023 Forester Sport frequently dropped the connection. The Carlinkit 5.0 works seamlessly with my iPhone, all the wife had to do was load the Android Auto app on her Samsung. Alongside an Auto Stop/Start Eliminator module, this is a must have for the current generation Forester.
