If I have a Carlinkit Dongle(Autokit, Wired Version) which works with Android phones like Samsung, then how can I upgrade the dongle to use wired CarPlay? (Attaching Video in the bottom provides more details.)

 

It is easy to follow 4 steps to use and upgrade the wired Android Auto in Android Head Unit. Let's go!

 1.View Android car version

  • On the car system, go to setting and check the system version.view Android car version -  1. On the car system, go to setting and check the system version.

2. Connect and pair

  • Turn on the "USB debugging" function in the Android phone settings inadvance.Turn on the USB debugging function in the Android phone settings inadvance.

3. Screen Mirror

4. Online Upgrade

Set up was easy and it works. However, the device is very intermittent and works about 30% of the time. I’ve had no problems with my phone staying connected to the vehicle via blue tooth but the Autokit is hit and miss. I’ve tried other cables as Well as the ones that came with it and it’s just not better. I’m sure there is a loose connection or flaky circuit board inside the device. Perhaps we should try a replacement.

Hello… nothing works in my RAM 1500 2018… The little red LED stays fixed on red… no connection possible. I followed the procedure completely as suggested and I really have the latest version. Also, I also tested it with my Mazda CX5 2021 and same problem. I have been using Android auto by wire for a long time and everything is fine. Last September, I bought another model of your product, and this one connects well in my 2 cars but the screen format is horrible. The system takes my Android for an Iphone. So I ended up with 2 CarlinKit devices that didn’t work well, so $300 in the trash. For the first purchase, it’s too late for a refund from Amazon!!!!! Please help me if you can do anything for me.

with the bike switched on. the Cardo. blue tooth on.
and the carlikit 4.0 connected to the usb.
The unit lights up red and stays like this.
Searching with blue tooth on.it does not find the unit.

I tried all 3 methods and the unit is recognized, but there must be some sort of security that prevents is from connecting to my car. As others have mentioned, my vehicle screen looks nothing like the one in the video. That would be too easy. I think you need to stop selling these on Amazon because they are not compatible and causing everyone a headache. Back to Amazon it goes.

I bought this for my nissan murano and the the first one I bought was already used and I couldn’t access the wifi that someone previously set up so they sent me a new one and I didn’t have a chance to mess with it cause family came in from out of town. I drive a Hyundai 2021 Kona and have wired android auto and carplay. I have problems connecting, about 50 percent of the time it connects successfully and works great. I either have to unplug the device from the car and reconnect or turn off Bluetooth on my Samsung phone and turn back on to work.
