It works well so far, but Android Auto keeps crashing. specially when parked and watching videos. The regular Android Auto still crashes about every 20-40. I believe the cable provided does not have proper data transfer bandwidth. I tested my 40Bgps cable which is about 2 feet in length, and the device never crashed and was very responsive. Trying an "Active USB C Cable" (16.4 ft for USB-A to USB-C Active Cable.)

Carlinkit Smart Dash Cam
This is about the Carlinkit Smart Dash Cam product. Recently got a new Tata Nexon Kaziranga Edition that comes with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which unfortunately limits you with dangling cables to stay connected and use Apple CarPlay. Was looking for options to covert the same to a Wireless connection method. Reviewed a lot of products and finally decided to get the Carlinkit Smart Dash Cam. This product not only converts your wired CarPlay and android auto wireless but also has the goodness of a HD dash cam and an android box that helps you use unlimited apps like Netflix, Prime Video, Youtube etc. This is an Android 12 Box with 4GB/64GB memory. This also has a slot for extended memory of upto 128GB with a provision to have a SIM card for its own connectivity. I saw great value in the product that is a compact piece of tech that delivered more than you ask for. I ordered one and got it yesterday. It is awesome. I have to appreciate the carlinkit folks to expedite the delivery. I got this in a week's time.
This device is fast and easy to connect, but sometimes you have to restart the device because it doesn't boot up properly or doesn't connect. (Newest Firmware)
Bought this after watching YouTube videos. When I received the cellophane wrapping was just laying in the package with the box, so i felt like maybe i was sent a used device. Opened the box and it all seemed to be correct and looked new.
When i finally got around to installing it was not quite as easy as the videos made it look and the instruction book is such small writing that I struggled with that. It seemed that the instructions were not step by step. It did load write up on the screen but the screen prompts, or lack there of did not match the book.
When i did finally get it to work the picture was great and connected quickly. I set this up in my garage so decide to go drive around the block in the sunlight. Picture was still good but then it stopped. Appears i had connected to my WiFi and not my phone. After messing around with it out in the street for a little bit i finally got it to BT to my phone. I am. Still unable to figure out how to get it to hook up to my hotspot on my phone vs BT. I am running a 2024 Toyota Tundra Platinum with the 14 in infotainment. I can’t tell about open road use yet, that remains to be seen.
Overall happy with it.
